Post Game Discussion: 8/12 Angels @ Blue Jays

Vernon Wells' first game back to Toronto after he had bean dealt to the Angels in the offseason was a success. Wells hit a bomb in the 2nd Inning (17 on the year), and the Angels won 5-1.

Santana: 9 innings, 7 H, 1 ER, 2 BB's, 6 K's, 1 HRA

Morrow: 7 innings, 4 H, 4 ER (5 R), 4 BB's, 3 K's, 1 HRA

  • Vernon Wells hit his 17th homerun of the season off of Morrow in the 2nd inning
  • Torii Hunter and Russel Branyan both hit doubles, Hunter's 19th and Branyan's 2nd
  • 2-6 RISP
  • 4 LOB
Santana threw a complete game (102 pitches), lowering his ERA to 3.10 on the year, making only one mistake by giving up a homerun to Eric Thames in the 9th.

Santana (9-8) with the win, Morrow (8-7) with the loss.
